Jews for Jesus Sues Google and Blogger Over Trademark Infringement

(AXcess News) New York - Jews for Jesus (www.jewsforjesus.com), a group of born again Christians, is supposedly sueing Google and a Blogspot blogger over trademark infringement demanding that Blogspot hand over the name, http://jewsforjesus.blogspot.com.

The blogger, named Whistle Blower, said the attack against his blog is not the first time the Jews for Jesus group has sued over a URL. Whistle Blower said the J4J group used to have hyphens in its name (jews-for-jesus) and sueded a Jewish man named Brodsky who bought the name jewsforjesus.org (without the hyphens). Whistle Blower said that Brodsky finally caved when a judge issued an injunction.

Now, Whistle Blower says Jews for Jesus has turned their sites on him, his Blogspot blog and Google, naming them in a lawsuit for trademark infringement.

Jews for Jesus, in their lawsuit, want money from Google for unspecified damages, Whistle Blower states on his blog.

Whistle Blower's blog airs critical views of the San Francisco-based organisation, which seeks to convert Jews to Christianity. He put the blog online in May, now Jews for Jesus says, according to Whistle Blower, that the organization has turned its attention to his blog in particular.

Jews for Jesus claims branches in seven US cities and numerous foreign countries on its website, but AXcess News could find no reference to any infringement lawsuits filed against Google or any other source on the organization's website.

A call to Jews for Jesus headquarters in San Francisco Monday referenced that their office was closed in observance of the Christmas holiday, so AXcess News could not confirm Whistle Blower's claim of an infringement lawsuit. Google did not respond to our inquiry either.

Jews for Jesus aren't really Jews, natch -- they are an oddball little sect of formerly-jewish Christians.

I think this is the real threat to the interent. As it becomes more mainstream we are subject to more legal BS.
