So im shopping for a Sirius reciever

Wish Sirius made one like this XM one im selling on Ebay

XM radio

Whats a kinda cheap alternative for someone who hasnt got a lot of money but really wants to hear Howie next month. Cheapest thing ive found is this for 119 minus a $50 rebate. Anyone have it? Any good?

Sanyo CRSR-10 Radio with Boombox Package

And yeah i know theres better setups for Sirius, but i aint rich

That's the ugliest one they make for my

Do you have a home stereo? If you have any kind of radio really, you don't need the boombox.

I have the starmate replay and I love it, and it does have a line out which serves as a connection to a stereo or headphones. The thing gets very hot though.

Yeah, you'd be in business with that, but check ebay. I got the starmate with a home and car kit on ebay for $100.

Wireless headphones and the remote and you would be set. The starmate even has 2 display settings. One is really big so you can see the artist and channel info. from the couch. The replay is key too, and the memo feature I should get commision from Sirius.

The Evil Walmart.com website has a basic Sirius setup for under $70.00 thats the one I'm getting next month, I was more wondering myself about the actual 65 chans they have, I'm NOT a sports type person and according to their store flyer "We Feature so much sports that "SOMETIMES" we have to also use 12 of our non sports channels to air them all" The problem with that for me, the chans they "take over" are the talk radio & Comedy stations which I would spend most of my time on.

Anyone know about that? and how often?

it's a digital signal. it either works or it doesn't. Are you using a modulator or just transmitting to an fm station? I forget the station that has the tech support but they just take tech calls about sirius all day and I've heard this issue on there but I forget the exact solution. Check the website for it.

One thing to try is changing the station you tune to. Make sure there are no stations near it. For example, don't tune it to 88.1 if there is an actual radio station broadcasting to 88.3 if there is even a weak signal it will compete with sirius and you will hear static or noise.

If that doesn't help you may need this modulator thing. I don't know exactly what it does, I just remember that tech show referring to it.

Maybe I'm just lucky but my gabage Xact unit has been trouble free from well over a year. I have it set up in one room and I can get a clear signal throughout my home on my designated fm channel.

The Key to the whole deal is antenna placement, and making sure you have NO kinks in your antenna cable.

OH I have best results with the 107.9ish chanels

no problem.

My Radio was under 100.00 bucks, I like Howard, but I also enjoy about 20 other channels as well. Commercial free. I am a sports fan and the coverage is GREAT.

I just view it as the next evolution. You purchase a TV? Most people purchase cable service or Dish service for their TV. You don't have to but some of us like cable.

well then I guess this stuff is wrong????

$48.00 system

$38.00 Home Kit

so for about $80.00 you got both a car & home system from Walmart

Now granted the home kit is out of stock atm, but from what my local store told me that don't mean shit.

I don't know if you already ordered one, but I was searching for one of these today myself and came across this starmate for $119 - minus $50 rebate. Includes car kit, home kit and remote.
