How do I hook all this up?
I have a non wireless capable desktop, a cable modem, a wired capability router, a wireless router, and 2 laptops with wireless capabilities. Both routers are made by netgear.
I want the laptops to be able to run wireless, while the pc runs wired. And I'm losted. Current setup is that the net connection runs through the wired router.

I assume these routers are also switches?
You could take a port on the wired router and plug it (using a cross over cable) into the wireless router to feed your wireless devices, then just use one of the other ports on the wired router for your desktop. |

I would throw the entire setup in the trash and start over.

I'm reading now, trying to make sense of it, and the wired router is a 4 Port Cable/DSL router with 10/100 Mbps switch. The other is a 54 Mbps wireless router. And it's been a long time since my intro to networking class.

Does the wireless router also have ports to plug into? You should only need 1 router for all of it if you have one broadband connection.

I tried that, and couldn't connect to the net with that setup. Let me try it again, and see if I have better luck.

Yay progress!
I am running through the wireless router on the desktop. Now I just have to figure out how to pass protect the wireless stuff.
