No. We have a television for gaming.

I had read there is burn in on plasmas..don't know for sure, though. We love ours for movies and HD tv.

Damn, that would be nice. I've seen some 40+" models and they rock! Unfortunately, Plasma/LCD TVs here in the PI cost up to 6x more than in the US. I'd have to have my family in the US buy the unit from Fry's/Best Buy/Walmart (don't laugh, they have some really good deals ) and send it to Manila via Fedex. Even with the heavy shipping fees, it's still way cheaper than buying it here.

It's a big no no unless you have the cash to dish out for a new one. Any static non moving image can burn itself into a plasma.

IMO if you play video games the differences between an LCD and a Plasma aren't great enough in order for you to risk your plasma. Go LCD.

I picked up a 52" Panasonic LCD off ebay for $1300 just for my xbox. Best deal ive ever made in my life. sure its last years model...but can i tell the difference.

LoL You only need to worry about Screen Burn if you're planning on buying a Shitty Plasma..
I got a 42inch Samsung and Play games on it all the time.. These days all the latest models have protection against burn...

Like an Idiot I letf mine on all night with a game of pause... (with pixel shift protection off )
I was pissed! The screen looked like it was totally screwed, pixels were messed up and I had huge "Press Start" right down the middle!

I ran the Anti Burn Pixel Patern for like 40 min.. bang it was gone.

Ask the sales guy what protection your screen has before buying...
Its worth spending the extra $$$!

I had not heard that they would damage the tv.

What bothers me, is that the Sharp plant is about 8 miles from here, and they make the tv's there. But they wont sell to the public, and they ar almost 2x's as much here as in San Diego.

My Samsung is not that great, During some fast moving action scenes I've noticed it pixalating in the corners sometimes.

I'd go with a Sony but It depends how much you're willing to spend.

How so? Unless you have lag problems, they work fine.

look at the new HP DLP or the Sony SXRD. Not flat panel, but probably better quality image. I dont think the SXRD supports 1080p input yet, but the HP does and can do 1:1 pixel mapping.

burn-in is pretty much eliminated and a non-issue nowadays.

the guy above that mentioned he got a 52" LCD must have gotten a rear-projection LCD similar to a DLP....some of those are only 12" deep nowadays...
