Beggers ringing my bell on Christmas eve :(
So my guard has the day off, most Mexicans celebrate Christmas starting today.
My bell rings and there's a man standing at the door and he hands me a paper proclaiming that there is a revival in one of the parks today denouncing drugs, alcohol and prostitution. He wants money.
Suddenly, I forget all of my Spanish, while I'm reading his paper.
"No entendo espanol, que quiere?"
He shows me a 5 peso coin and tells me "monedas" (coins, change). Fuck, now the language barrier is broken.
So I tell him "pero me gusta (yes, but I like) drogas, alcohol y prostitutas".
So he offers me 2 suckers. Hmm.
I give him 5 pesos and he gives me the 2 suckers and tells me "Todavía le gustarían drogas, alcohol y prostitutas". (You can still like drugs, alcohol and prostitutes).
Mission accomplished. But I still think I paid too much for the suckers
