A few days ago I checked my email and noticed two mysterious items were paid for with my paypal account. These items totaled $2,000 ($1,400 of which was withdrew from my bank via e-check) Someone had logged into my account and made these payments to a foreign unverified account.
I immediately call paypal and inform them. Customer Support lady tells me there?s nothing she can do but file a dispute claim. I tell her I want an immediate resolution, and she says ?I?m sorry; it could take up to 2 weeks.? Luckily it only took about 24 hours. They rejected my claim stating that there wasn?t enough evidence to support it. I call them and they give me some more bullshit, and I ask to talk to a supervisor. He tells me he will file another dispute claim. About 5 hours later, I get an e-mail saying my paypal account has been shut down. I call them yet again and ask why. They said, they investigated my account and on December of 2004 I made a payment to an e-mail that was linked to an adult site (must not have been at the time, because I am not a fucking idiot). I lost my temper and flipped out. I was hung up on shortly after.
They refuse to talk to me when I call and mention my former account name, so I?m out 2 grand.
I lost my paypal account for reporting an incident that took place because of their lack in security. Go figure.
I will NEVER use paypal again.
