affilate programs and non compete agreements

Do you guys make your employees sign non compete agreements?

Seems more then ever people are leaving to start their own affilate programs with all that knowledge they gained on the job?

Many progams do, but that is not enforceable in many states.

I had to sign a 2 year one when I worked at xxxxxxxxxxx.net (too embarassed to give the real name). Not long after, they increased it to four years, then five, and who knows where those idiots are now. They prosecuted a couple of ex-employees for breaking the agreement too.

I think some companies are just kunts, others trust their employees.

I'm disgusted by the business ethics of many people. You should respect and honor your employer and not use their kindness against them. Even if the company you worked for wasn't so kind it's disrespectful to compete against them. I think non-compete laws for those who leave to start their own successful competing companies should be enforced better.

You don't need contracts with good people. The world would be much easier without contracts that aren't any better than the people who signed them.

In michigan it doesnt hold, and even if it did I would never make an employee sign one, If you have a good employee and you take care of them then they stick around

Just like they should respect their employees enough not to have such contracts and bullshit.
