ccbill, NATS and other aff programs - Lets talk ROI
I know the adult industry its based on volume that is probably why nobody
gives much thought into ROI tracking. What I'm wondering is why the affiliate programs give so little information about the signups I'm making. Why don't they provide more usefull information like the IP of the user that signed up, which would makes a huge difference. What I would love to see from ccbill, NATS and other programs would be postbacks. CCBill already does this for program owners, why not do this for affiliates as well ? I don't think its much more overhead and this would lead to the creation of better tracking tools for our traffic. It wouldn't take a lot for the other programs to do it either, or at least provide the IP of the user that signed up. Currently I can think of some tricks to have a better tracking but with so many programs its just not doable for all the traffic. If theres something I'm missing feel free to enlighten me. Props to http://www.webcams.com/affiliates/ which at least provides the ip of the user which helps me a ton. And feel free to add any other programs that provide better stats. P.S. I don't want any smartass telling me ccbill its not an aff program. |

Imagine TGPs having their toplists sorted by signup ratio
instead of the current system which only produces click monkeys. |

That's all well and good, but there are simplier ways.
The whole adult industry is built on doing things simplier, seen many, many mainstreme online businesses go broke trying to be tricky. I used to do a lot of PayPerSearch advertising.... All I needed was a CTR and my $/click and all the ROI was right there infront of me. Postbacks sound like a good idea, but isn't it just more overhead just for little information that can be gathered through other means anyway? -Ben

When you're dealing with one source of traffic ofcourse its easier but thats not the case with many sites. What is so hard to add some ips in the stats ? |

Its definately an interesting idea... postbacks to affiliates... I would have to look into issues like slow target URLs and such, but that would probably be the only problem.
Interesting idea, thanks for the tip.

Like I said there can be some workarounds but having the ips would make everything much more simple. |

You say you want to use ip's to better track which traffic source is sening more joins, why don't you just use landing pages? I mean that what I do for cpc and whatnot and works well for me.

I can think of 10 programs off the top of my head that do member data postback to the affiliate account. For their own protection (to save you from annoying them) I won't name any, except www.pimpinpays.com ..however the infomation provided back to the affiliate about the member can sometimes be limited for many many reasons which I'd rather not discuss.
My point is, if you have the signups to support the feature being enabled at the sponsor, chances are they will activate it for your account. Many sponsors run things in the background normal affiliates will never ever see or read about. This is one of those. Welcome to 1995 ![]() |

I'm rather sick of sponsors adverting their affiliate support and not even bother answering an e-mail after you signup. Not saying this is the case but thats my experience with the programs I signed up from GFY. The best responses I got was from bots which weren't even answering the question I asked. |

up till some point. However when working on a larger scale it doesn't make a viable option. |

www.MensNiche.com already do IP tracking for people promoting us...
I suggest you use our free design and programming to build a site like www.malepenisadvice.com and start experiencing ratios like www.mensniche.com/topten.php

What value has it for you as a affiliate to know the IP of the user that signed up? You dont need to it for GEO tracking or anything, that makes no different. If you get paid per sale you shouldn't get much information at all. You get raw, unique, sometimes second pages hits or join page hits. Most of the time you can see the url you got the signup from and from which campaign the traffic got. What else more you need to know?

thx for mentioning us
We try to give our affiliates detailed info in case they need to know where their traffic is coming from, etc. We are actually going to be hyperlinking the IP in the future so you can geo-track it easily from our system. I think this information is important for affiliates and there really is no reason why programs shouldn't give it that I can think of? It would be very easy for stats programs to include this information in the postback for affiliates. What are reasons why the affiliate shouldn't know these details? |
