Did you have a BMX bike?

This should be fun. We all know that most of us guys had a bad ass BMX bike at one time or another. Might have been a "racer" - might have been a "freestyle" model.

I was into freestyle back in the days. I had some kick ass bikes. This is brought upon by buying my son his first "kick ass" BMX just tonight for Christmas. Bought him a Haro.

Ny best nike? A GT Pro Performer World Tour. 3 piece alloy cranks, titanium hub rims. I was the mack at 15. Dad got it for me special ordered out of Huntington Beach right before Xmas. Paid extra to get her all chromed out... ALL chromed out.

What did you have?

Mongoose put out a special edition called the "Supergoose"

Tricked it out with all the top products....

Sew up nobby tires... (no inner tubes)
Shimano cranks

Raced three times a week. Got co-sponsored by a couple bmx product companies back in the day.

I was ESPN once back in the 80's... lol

12 year old expert class

My older brother raced in the 16 expert class, he had a bike now defunct bike company, called "Panda" which put out a "Pro/Am" Model...

He was pretty good... and almost went pro, but ended up getting a girlfriend instead.

He was getting offers from Diamond Back, GT, RedLine, etc, for full sponsorship.. but pussy came first i guess.

Ive got some an old pic around here somewhere of me racing at an old ABA championship race in MI.

We had an entire hallway full of trophies and ribbons.

We had so many trophies, that after we quit racing, the parent thought they became kind of cutter, so they all went in the trash.

Kind of disturning that have nothing left left to show for it, except for 1 little photo.

This thread was a fun trip down memory lane.

I had a Pro Performer too. I always wanted a PK Ripper, or a Skyway.
The Skyway Tuff Wheel ll was the shit. How about the Gt leanback seat post, or the gyro.
