He was one of the reasons I started my own Marketing Firm to consult for people.
I had a lunch meeting with him before he got started and I taught him some very useful things in that 1 hour. He took the advice and built an empire. I was working at WebSideStory as an employee at that time, so I was young and still learning the game. Appearantly I learned some good stuff, he kept it as simple as I explained it. He even had a motto, "Just Shoot Porn", that was more simple then I had explained, but it worked.
Then I realized I could charge good money for my advice.

Back when Jeff was in the biz, he would call up and tell me his latest and greatest marketing ideas and I have to admit he was really ahead of the game. It was Jeff who first spoke to me about a two-tier affiliate program which Epoch now offers as a standard feature. He was also so personable that you couldn't help liking the guy. He had a certain charisma to be sure. I thought it was a joke when Gavin called me up to say they were shutting down. I just couldn't believe what I was hearing.
Jeff, Gavin, Lindsey.... they were all great to know. And it was through BA that I met Airek too and it's good see that he's cut his own way in the biz.

Jeff was certainly an innovator and quick study. I remember when he decided to post his traffic stats in a way that all affiliates could see them - He found that it made them more competitive to try and be at the top.
