    Thinking about my decision NOT to goto Vegas this year.......

    Was thinking about my decision NOT to goto vegas this year, and I truly believe it was the best decision I ever made.

    gona be in the dominican republic instead. And we'll have fun, do business and be able to RELAX

                                                                                      I went back and forth and decided to go to Vegas.

                                                                                      I think it was a bad idea to move the show to the same time as CES. And I hate to reinforce that behavior.

                                                                                      But in reality, I think it may make a good weeder. The guys who are just coming for the parties and do not have any real game will be weeded out by the price.

                                                                                      I still hate the crowds, but so far I've been able to pull strings and get reservations for myself, my employees and people I want to entertain.

                                                                                                      I've been during CES before including one day of it last year. I've been during the hey day of Comdex many times.

                                                                                                      It's not that the town is immobile or unusable when at capacity, you just have to have a LOT more patience...

                                                                                                      --cab lines from hell at all of the major venues. expect 45-60 minute cab lines at Venetian and Sands late afternoon.

                                                                                                      --reservations require connections or greased palms unless you're eating at Fatburger.

                                                                                                      --cafes and buffets will have 45-60 minute lines during peaks.

                                                                                                      --very few seats at tables open, and expect to play $100 or better at places like Venetian.

                                                                                                      Money fixes most of these things.

                                                                                                      And that's what I was saying, the guy who is used to being able to do the entire trip for $1000 is SOL.

                                                                                                                                                                      crowds for vegas? nope, i love crowds. i hate that the economy is ridiculous and that WAITING for anything will suck. i hate to wait. i love crowds though.

                                                                                                                                                                      more than likely i will pull the show up at the airport with a credit card and jsut catch a flight in for a night. stay with a friend and be out the next day. but, i won't be paying up to 1000 a night for a room that i will only see for 2 hours a day.
