Should be about $400-$500 for a new motherboard.

I have no idea ...all i know is that anytime i bring a PC to Geek squad they tell me they need to change the motherboard ..

One time i had a laptop that had a loose plug ... I thought it maybe at the connection where the plug goes in ... I told them can they check the connection to the motherboard and they told me i needed a new motherboard ... i said fuck no and bought a universal plug just to see ... it was the plug ..cost $30

another time they told me that on a brand new Sony I needed a motherboard because it kept locking up and was dropped ... I had a feeling it wasn't so ... I bought a hard drive and swapped it out ... never had a problem again .... I'm no Tech guy and for me to even change out a Hard drive on a brand new laptop is a big deal ..i had to look up on the web how to take this thing apart ..

I say FUCK GEEK SQUAD ..

If you need a new laptop here's a good deal, just ordered one for myself:

DELL Inspiron 9300
http://configure.us.dell.com/dellsto...e=ss&c=US&l=EN
Choose some upgrades till it gets to $1499 or over, then use this coupon code:
5KTG5F4TX8339P The coupon code is $500 off.
Or $750 off a $1999 or more version: CC2$$MRTCWJ5FD

Get a flash light and look in the slot and see if the eject button's lever is stuck in the eject position. Sometimes it can be manually pushed back and it will work ok. If it is stuck in the eject position, see if you can tell what is sticking. Remember to put the card in held flat cause if you don't it won't seat properly. An easy mistake to make in poor light.

This is because most people fail to think around the problem, or "outside the box", as I would like to call it.

It pisses me off when they just assume the worst and want to ship it out for 6 weeks ... what the fuck do they care ... even when you tell them what you think it is they don't even want to take the time to think of that as a possibility .. in my first case ..how hard would it have been for the guy to try another plug ... just to see
