![]() I am trying to decide between 2 sleds and I am having one hell of a hard time deciding.
I'm trying to decide between the Polaris 600 H.O Fusion ![]() and the Polaris 900 H.O. Fusion ![]() I haven't really looked at many other sleds because I am a big fan of Polaris sleds. The price is not the much between the 2 (maybe a couple of grand)... I like a sled to thrash around on jumps and something light that is making me kind of lean towards the 600, plus the 600 has been getting some incredible reviews... However the 900 is balls to the wall power but it seems to have had some mechanical service issues and the one I road earlier this year (rental) broke down on me in the middle of a frozen lake LOL! Anyways expert GFY snowmobilers please give me some advice here, I would sincerely appreciate it ![]() DH |

I don't own one but I have tried riding my friend's snowmobile. It was scary and fun at the same time.

I can vouch for the 600's maneuvering capabilities on various terrain.

Well you don't look like an heavy guy so the 600 will do ... depends what kind of rides you like. I'd personally go for the bigger model
My family got a new polaris from last year and a old yellow Ski Doo one ;0 |

Ive driven both as well. The 600 is great for ditch banging and can handle like a champ. The 900 is great for raw power and can still handle great.
Where are you going to ride the most. Open lakes (900) or tight trails (600)? I am more of a ditch banger myself so my 1000 (T-Cat) sits a lot while I ride my F7. I prefer the lighter sleds. The best way to solve your problem is to get both ![]()

900 for sure. You won't out grow it so quickly. I have been racing motocross forever, never got to try a snowmobile. Looks like a lot of fun. Can't wait for it to Snow in California.

Yep not enough snow here in Texas to constitute investing in a snowmobile
but I've been on one before when I spent christmas in minnesota a few years back with some family. Talk about a good time! |

Go for the 600. Considering the trails around your area (tight, narrow trails, with no lake running), you'd never be able to use the power the 900 has. Plus, the 600 will handle much better.
Now, if you were in Northern Ontario, I'd go for the 900; lots of open sweeping trails with lots of lakes; *then* the 900 would be a blast. I prefer small light sleds; it's great to out-ride bigger sleds on the trails. I had an MXZ 440 that was untouchable. Now riding a Ski-doo Legend 600; more power, but doesn't quite handle like the 440.

get the 600 or you will be dead after this winter
you dont need a top of the line snowmobile...the 600 is probably easier to drive |

Unless you are gonna be going balls to the walls across fields etc I would take the 600 over the 900 anyday. I prefer a modded 440 over anything else for really twisty trail riding. Buddies will blow me away on the straight aways but nobody can keep up on the trails.
BTW - get an artic cat :-) |

I am A fan of Arctic cats myself. Make sure if you go with the 900 there are companies that will insure it. No use having a beefy sled that can;t be insured

I've owned 3 or 4 snowmobiles growing up. All different power ranges. I would get bored after not long though depending on the power. The 900 fusions fucking fly, I know someone with one. I would get it

I'm a little east of Bracebridge, so I've been doing a lot of sledding around here, and a bit north and east (Dorset, Dwight etc). Lived in Sudbury a few years ago, and the trail system is truly great. Lots of wide open trails, fast and fun.

Depends on what you do. I have 2, 2000 Polaris Indy 500 sleds. Mine are great, I am not out for doing 110 on a trail. If you are looking just for fun, get the 600, they are still plenty fast enough. I know I have had mine up to 65 or so, never cared to try beyond that.
My brother in law has a MX 750 or something, and that thing is pretty fast too. Polaris makes the best sleds imho. I will never use another brand. We just got about 8" of snow this week, so this evening the wife and I are throwing on our Choko riding gear and heading out on the trails (the state trail is 300 feet from my house at the end of my driveway ![]()
