    Wow!! This fraud looked convincing

I was checking my emails today and found something quite interesting in my Junk-Mail folder.

    It was from [email protected]

It basically said : "Unauthorized access to your PayPal account!

We recently noticed more attempts to log in to your PayPal account from a foreign IP address.

If you accessed your account while traveling, the unusual log in attempts may have been initiated by you. However, if you are the rightfull holder of the account, please visit Paypal as soon as possible to verify your identity:

Click here to verify your account

You can also verify your account by logging into your PayPal account at https://www.paypal.com/us/.
If you choose to ignore our request, you leave us no choise but to temporaly suspend your account.

We ask that you allow at least 72 hours for the case to be investigated and we strongly recommend to verify your account in that time.

    Thank you for using PayPal!
    The PayPal Team

Looks authentic... BUT, I hover over the links, and none of them lead to paypal. They lead to some php file on zha.sk

I google zha.sk and get a list of Russian sites... SO... of course I figure its a scam. And a damn good one if you're not paying attention.

The e-mail looks just like any other Paypal e-mail.

Anybody else ever get this one?

Btw, I have no idea what clicking on the link would do... my best guess would that it would install spyware... or maybe a password extractor... who knows.

Lol, I said it was good, didn't say I was had by it.

First major clue was that it arrived in my spam box... dead give away right there.

Anyhow, just spreading the word for those that haven't seen it before. Someone might be a bit sleepy when they get it and accidently click on it.

this is what I'm thinking. I've been getting a bunch of those per day for at least a year now.

jeez, i get like 10 of those a day from banks, ebay, paypal, etc....

good rule of thumb, if you are asked for any info over email, go directly to the site to enter it, don't click links in your email

Yeah, I've gotten that one before too. One time I was at the coffee shop and the owner asked me to check out this email she got from paypal. She wasn't sure if it was real or not. I think she would have fell for it if she hadn't asked. If you aren't internet savvy this kind of shit can trick you.
