A friend of mine bought a new betamax when they first came out and had one hell of a collection of classic porn on beta tapes. Probably over 100 tapes. He got sober in the early 90's and was cleaning out his basement and all the tapes and the player went in the trash. Damn shame. I love old porn. Easily transferred to dvd these days.

I've got an LD player and about 75 discs. I picked them up when the Blockbuster in my neighborhood started carrying DVDs.

The quality of the picture and sound is much better. I probably use mine a few times a month still.

Ive still got boxes full of 8mm films from the 60s collected over a few years - stored away somewhere around here

ya ... he still has his player ... he bought all his LD at blockbuster and tower records here ... he must have 50-75 ..all the classics and shit ... he told me the same thing that there better quality ..if i recall they went for big bucks compared to DVDs ...

Back in the day I went for the RCA CED player because nobody locally was stocking LDs. What a POS, too many of the dscs would skip in the same place every time. It was neat to have a couple of old favorite films on demand but I gave up on it after about a dozen discs and went for my first VCR (in 1981). It cost over $1K (on sale), only had 13 channels and a wired remote control
