video content Q's & suggestions

I already have the professional video equipment (digital cameras, editing suites, lighting, and what not). So I don?t need advice on what to get and I?m already pretty good with all the technical aspects. I have the paper work part covered too, I?m just wondering what would be a good way to start off, some practice shoots, what should I consider doing. And what would be a good price to pay models for softcore content and even hardcore. And probably the most asked question, how would you suggest getting models. I know a few who would do it, but they?re also dancers,. They would be the easiest to ask, but I dunno.

My goal is too capture stills for galleries and use the video for feeds off sites. So far I don't have the ambition to enter the content market, but maybe offer content for my design clients to use in ads, tours, wutever.

LoL and for the obvious answers, some typical replies-
- no im not going to video tape my mom/gf/sister/ for practice?
- leaky water jugs aren't a form of currency
- and no one here has fucked the above mentioned people

If you are just trying to get some girls/models for tuning up your techniques etc. why don't you ask or advertise for lighter type shoots like tickling videos, foot fetish kind of stuff or even chicks eating bananas and hot dogs... Who knows what kind of referrals etc you'll get if they have fun and feel comfortable...

My advice frequently runs contrary to what other people will tell you, but if you look at http://www.unseenworld.com/matrix.html, you'll see that it works (most of those gals recruited in just the last 2 years in Portland, OR, not LA or NYC).

Decide what kind of work YOU are comfortable with (do you really want to do people doing hardcore sex? or is it something you're going to want to hide from your family, for example?). I decided a long time ago that I'm into pretty girls, so that's what I do. I could maybe make more money doing fuck and suck material, but I personally find that side of the business smarmy.

As for getting models, a lot of the advice you'll get is pretty bad. Two examples: handing out business cards SUCKS. Instead, advertise. Secondly, DO NOT pander to the model's security concerns. You are looking for risk takers, and if it sounds too safe, it probably also sounds boring to the sort of girl you want to get.

One more thing: If you want quality stills, your video camera is not the way to do it. Vidcaps have a way to go yet before they can compete with even a fairly cheap digital still camera.
