so DNS changes are "instant" now - what about registering nameservers?

Does anyone know how long it takes for nameservers to be registered now? Does this new DNS rule make nameservers register faster than 1-7 business days?

Are you refering to A/MX/etc records?

Those typically depend on your provider making the change, net sol was taking ~15-20 minutes after i submited a change. If you control your own such as bind they will be instant.

If your refering to changing nameservers, those typically take 48-72 hours.

changing DNS servers, depending on the TLD doesnt take 48 hours anymore

and no, i wasnt referring to A/MX records, i'm talking about registering nameservers

ex:
registering NS1.mydomain.com / NS2.mydomain.com

I set up new nameservers about a week or so ago and everything was working within a couple hours. Was very surprised. It actually screwed up my schedule because I was planning to let the server sit for a day or so while everything went through. Didn't think I'd be able to work on it that soon.

It may have actually happened sooner than a couple hours, I just didn't check until then.

Namecheap has them done in a few mins - then if you use NameCheap to manage the domain DNS transfers as well it will be instant transfers.
