I saw one at a carshow, I'm not really down with Fords... but that is a pretty sweet ride. They look pretty mean in person.

There is no GT plant....

Each car is hand built very much like the Viper. In this case the car will be much more exclusive.

This is a retro car for those that do not know. In the 60's when the horsepower wars were heating up every Detroit company was looking to make the mark on racing. Ford... and i mena the man Ford had decided he was going to take LeMans and show the world that Fod was capable of taking down Ferrari and the likes.

Ford Entereds the Team Guernay driven GT 40 and went 1 2 3 for the first time in european racig history the Americans were looked upon as a threat and a viable one at that. For the remainder of the 60's american Muscle would light up the race track on both closed cources and dragstrips.

The Ford GT 40 would go down in history as the little car from the motor city that reminded the world that thge U.S. can produce the worlds most exotic racers when desired.

In the 1970's the oil embargo placed such an emphasis on fuel economy that the American auto manufacturers had to abandon most of the perfromance based initiatives.

Today we continue to capture the magic of that era by celebratiing the design and performance with tribute cars and throwback brands like GTo the new designed Mustang the Ford GT and the Dodge Viper (few people know that Carol Shelby was a big part of the design influence on the first rt/10 and GTS)

anyway...

I think the Ford GT is an amazing car that is more than just a fast American production exotic.... It is a celebration of the day Detroit sent Italy home with a loss

I'm not really feeling it

I would have to say, the ride is very very smooth in this car, It really does not feel like a ford whatsoever...

please show me a reliable super car. You are pushing the jagged edge when you get a performance vehicle, long rods with small bore, super high compression ratios, high rpms and you think something is not going to fail? I concur that 6 months is rediculous, of course I have seen non flogged Cobras of most gens drive longer than that without an issue. But please show me a Viper or Porche (especially RUF) or Ferarri or Lambo that is pushed a lot that is not constantly wearing main bearings, cam shafts, transmissions and differentials.

Reliable is a term used for daily drivers, you are not supposed to daily drive a super car, it is not engineered with that in mind. You do not get groceries in it, you take it out on dates, meetings etc to show off and let people know you had access to enough money to own one, weither that means you are in a debt now or it is paid off.

You're an absolute idiot who knows nothing about cars.

It's beaten the 360 and the Murcielago in track times...and it's the fastest car you can buy today with a top speed of 212 mph. It doesn't matter if it's made in the US, Italy, or Nigeria...it's one of the best exotic automobiles made:

I'm not going to call you an idiot like you did to the last guy but your top speed is not as high as the XJ220 or the F1 I believe these are still the two top contenders for fastest cars, Even if you argued the XJ is not in production the F1 can still be ordered, Then there is also the koenigsegg which is only slightly slower than these two. All of them can still be bought to this day though.

very nice ride :thumbsup

It's a nice car! I like it.

Mcarlsen 12-15-2005 01:21 PM

I have read about it in magazines. It is a good car, but you could get a viper for cheaper and the viper is a bit faster than the GT and has a bit better handling. To tell you the truth I would prefer a corvette over both.

The Vette is still the only sports car that matters in the US! Z06 Bitches!

I was just dropped off by that exact car here at the office 2006 427 zo6 in yellow

unbelieveably fast....

I have been in some of the worlds most sought after performance cars and i will say this.... the Z06 was one of the most impressive I have ever been in ...period
