Adult Industry Generates $12.6 Billion in 2005, AVN Estimates; State of the U.S. Adult Industry Report Highlights Diverse Products and Delivery Options
AVN Adult Entertainment Expo 2006 ENCINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 13, 2005--Adult Video News (AVN) has released new industry revenue information that forecasts $12.6 billion in revenue for the adult entertainment industry in 2005. Sources for the study include AVN, Kagan Research, Juniper Research, the New York Times, Forbes, and the Free Speech Coalition. The report is available at avn.com. "The 'State of the U.S. Adult Industry' report is ground-breaking because for the first time an accurate and comprehensive review of the adult entertainment industry has been generated," said Paul Fishbein, President of AVN Publications. "By pooling knowledge from a variety of sources, we have created a snapshot of the industry that encompasses video sales and rental, magazines, cable and pay-per-view, the Internet, exotic dance clubs, hotel in-room video on demand, mobile, and novelties." Journalists and financial analysts can learn more about the diverse market segments and revenue streams of the adult entertainment industry by attending the 2006 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, to take place January 5-8, 2006 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. "The sources of revenue that the State of the U.S. Adult Industry identifies will all be participating at the 2006 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo," said group show director Liz Crawford. "With more than 350 exhibiting companies, the Expo will be a showcase of the very best movies and videos, adult cabarets, novelty manufacturers, publications, and other producers of exciting adult products and services."
