I wouldn't say fake, because all of it is based on true facts and feelings, but definitely overexaggerated for publicity.

I saw him last Sunday, live here in NC.
Dude just needed some time off, medias made a big thing out of it....

He did Oprah regarding the same topic. I don't think it is fake drama as he seemed sincere in his reasons for taking off.

The drama kind of reminds me of Howard Stern's fight to greatnes, he just wanted freedom to do what he wanted to do.
