That I let this happen to me is an 'oh well' kind of thing....not something one can go back in time and undo...but one day at a time will undo the terrible damage I did to myself over a period of ten years.... And, you said something that is so true. If you don't do it for you.....and you don't have a plan....failure looms ahead. The food journal almost did me in...I have a high stress career. I work a lot of hours....could I take time off to go to a gym...for me, it was a matter of getting up and exercising...having a gym in the house would have kept me here....since I telecommute to work.....forcing myself to get up and go to a gym was so hard.... And writing down what I ate. Jesus...that was an eye opener, once I gave in to the force I call the trainer torture man.... But, he was right. Calories in. Calories out. I'm a picky eater. I don't like boxed foods nor do I care for packaged or frozen anything. I don't eat cereal or bread or jello...I'm a fat junkie... ***** Here is MY tip for anyone who wants to be a different body style**** Take the emotion out of food. Now, to me, it's just fuel. That took four months to take hold; but, it did. My honey can eat dark chocolate in front of me and I'm fine. It's just fuel. |

Look at so many americans ... going out and having huge dinners all the time. And we wonder why there are so man overweight people in the USA. All those dinners are cooked with fats, oils and butter. Why do you think its so good. People need to start making more of an effort to having friends over for dinner and cooking a healthy meal. |

FAT PEOPLE!! THE EQUATION IS VERY SIMPLE HERE:
CALORIES IN < CALORIES OUT Stop eating like pigs and think about what you're putting into your mouth. Read about the glycemic index (carbs) & its effects on insulin (responsible for shuttling nutrients into your cells for enegery) and your body as well as your BMR (basal metabolic rate). You should figure this out before you do anything, your BMR is the amount of calories your body expends daily for normal bodily functions. If your BMR is 2800 calories per day, and you consume less calories... then your body burns what for energy, FAT DEPOSITS! If you add some resistance or cardio training a few times a week then you add even more to that number as well as increase your metabolic rate. 3500 calories = 1lb Anyone seriously looking to lose weight should read, read & read more. Most obese people suffering from type 2 diabetes, depression and other things typically 'cure' themselves after they lose the weight. It's not a diet, its a lifestyle change... for the majority of people looking for a 'back to normal goal' this DOESNT mean you have to eat brown rice and chicken breast for the rest of your life but once you get to your goal and fuck up by doing all of the old shit you once did you'll just rebound back to fatville. Most important you need to figure out what works for you and dont burn yourself out by eating tuna and chicken breast every day while dieting... learn to cook with the right meats, carbs & fats... drink diet sodas, water, flavored water (with 0 cals), use splenda. Don't give in to that temptation for desert everytime. Maintenance is a lot easier than the journey back to 'normal' for the obese. A cheat day where you eat whatever you want will help to keep you sane. Anyway, good luck folks. |
I guess it doesnt affect me much, I eat whatever I want and I don't get fat, i went through a time where i ate burgers for like 2 weeks straight, or every other day, eat loads of ice cream , cheese steak, i basically eat like a pig, and no matter how much i eat i don't get fat, I'm still only 90lbs... My jeans got tighter tho, but even so i still fit in a size ZERO.
I'm one of those people that can eat as much as they want and never get fat, good genes and good metabolism i guess. cause i eat A LOT, i can finish a whole footlong at subway in one sitting..... |
