nothing...
But sometimes I get shocked of the growing number, it means that I spent way to much time on the board.

dissipate 12-13-2005 09:05 AM

it gauges how much time someone has to do nothing else but troll

brand0n 12-13-2005 09:05 AM

a guage of how much of your life you've lost to the gfy gods.

SleazyDream 12-13-2005 09:18 AM

postcount means everything. it defines if you are intelligent and trustworthy on GFY. A 10K+ post count means you're somebody - means others should respect your posts. Means you know what you are talking about.

someday i want a high post count........

woj 12-13-2005 09:25 AM

I dare anyone that claimed in this thread that it means nothing to request a post count reset (sleazy dreams did it, so it can be done)....
So who will be the first one to do it?

All you probably have to do is post request that in this thread, and Ramos will arrange for it to be taken care of...

shows the amount of "free" time the individual has. This has its up and down side. Could mean they make enough with their business to not have a 9-5 or they have a 9-5 but do not have to work very hard at it. But honestly when someone goes big time in the industry do they post as much as they did when they start off? Are the biggest names in adult posting here regularly? Is the highest post count here the most sucessful? Post count here means to me that someone with a higher has posted more than I have and is probably more popular, lower means they have posted less than me, but could still be more popular.

I tend to read the message more than worry about post count, but i do look at it to get a feel for how active the person is here and how often they have said something that i can use to decide if i want to do business with them or not.

I would hope others would look at my post quality and not my quantity when deciding to do business, but the safest way is to post more but not so much as to seem like i have been here spinning wheels for years and years

CDSmith 12-13-2005 12:33 PM

It only has meaning for me for the following things:

-- Newb, been here for less than a year and has 10,000+ posts..... says someone has no life and will probably end up serving time for stalking and killing someone.

-- Brand-new nick, post count of 1-100, is mouthy and full of attitude like he knows everyone.... tells me a regular poster here lacks the balls to say it wiff 'is real nick. He/she will probably end up in a psych ward suffering from multiple personality disorder.

-- 15k+ posts, but registered pre-2002.... Be it good guy or idiot, it means they've been a regular contributor to the board for a long time, making an average of 10-20 posts per day or so. Should be viewed as a badge of honor of sorts, but sadly in most cases it probably isn't.

Conclusion:
Judge not by post count, but by the individual. Whether they have a post count of 20, 2000 or 20,000, an idiot is still an idiot.

seeric 12-13-2005 12:35 PM

post count means about as much as people posting stats and conversion ratio threads.

that should explain that pretty well.

Triple 6 12-13-2005 12:43 PM

whats a post count and where can i get 1

Mr.Ocean 12-13-2005 12:46 PM

It means a lot to me.
If a 2005 person has over 10k I know not to take the fool serious.
He spend his time on this board playing instead of working.
Same goes for other years with relatively high postcounts.

Thats a flawed way of thinking

huey 12-13-2005 01:06 PM

Post count size is in direct correlation to your status in high school.
The bigger the count the bigger the loser.
I'm somewhat of a high school loser at around 500 posts.
Scale it from there.

Orgasmics 12-13-2005 01:33 PM

High post counts mean nothing to me.
Of course, this is coming from someone with under 1000 posts in nearly 4.5 years.

What does Post Count mean to you?
Serious subject is post count - and one in need of more research to establish why the human brain finds this so fascinating.

If post counts were removed, would this deprive guinea pigs of mental stimulus? After having 20,000 posts and then stopping the count, would Jackoff the Chimp feel deprived of his board persona?

Even more disturbing, - why is StuartD hitting the 50th post instead of woj?

Ever asked yourself the meaning of life or what brand of toilet paper you prefer and why?

we agree to disagree :)

Roald 12-13-2005 02:00 PM

I tend to look more to the join date than the postcount.

By itself, post count means nothing to me.
