Its all thanks to the new owners, they revitalized the entire sport (in North America) and partnered with Spike

They also got it back on PPV.

I'd much rather return to the days of rome. We have an overpopulated prison system, i say we let the murderers opt to take part in a battle for an audience. Get 100-300 at a time, let them choose their weapon & fight until the last man is standing.

The last man standing would either get applauded or boo'd.....if he gets applauded he lives & gets a 2nd chance at life....if he gets boo'd, he gets executed on the spot.

Now thats entertainment

I used to love those big fat bastards go at it like Tank Abbott. All these new guys are too thin and in shape LOL! I think they are looking to pick up the female audience and gays. ;)

tank was awesome!! same with taktarov (or however you spell it) - fuck he could take a beating and keep going, and gracie was (of course) pretty fucking amazing too.

Its helped a lot in the local mma gyms also. Lots more people want to learn the art of fighting and the mma gyms and personal mma trainers are getting a lot more students.

Ya, UFC has been hot since The Ultimate Fighter 1 started getting big Nielsen ratings.

I've been watching it for years and I'm addicted. So much action for the $. Fuck a $50 PPV boxing match with maybe 2 good (boring) fights. I'd rather spend $35 to see 8 hardcore battles.

A lesser knowed fact here at gfy is that I trained a few ufc fighters myself Drinkinghard. Don't let my small size fool ya. You make reconize this fighter of mine Randy Couture.

Here is a pic of Dan Serverns belt from his glory days! I took the pic at a martial arts expo here in Toronto.

The fact is I never even knew that was Randy couture untill Magnus at GTS told me it was him. hahaha this was at the Webmaster access in LA last month! I owe huge props for Magnus for spotting him and taking the pic! Thank you!

Agreed. The "tank" would litterally pound the shit out of guys. Personally, I like that style better. The man didn't even know the meaning of the word submission.....

The old days were good, it's just too boring 90% of the time these days. I prefer Pride FC where they don't let the fights get boring and take money off your payheck if the fight is not entertaining enough.
