Did I need to buy new wireless cards too? I had a wireless router from netgear. I wanted to replace it with one from linksys but the only PC getting an internet connection is the wired one.

You don't need to have a matching brand. Maybe the settings on your wireless card are configured for the old router. Turn off encryption and everything and see if your computer can see the network. Also make sure wireless is turned on in the router admin. Make sure you have the right mode turned on too (B or G).

Are you on XP SP1 or SP2? When I upgraded routers here neither of my roommates could connect because they hadn't installed SP2 yet.
