What is Your Favorite Chinese Food?

There are many stories in the West about the strange and disgusting eating habits of other cultures, especially about Asians and particularly about Chinese people. The stories range from relatively benign tales of dog and cat eating, to nauseating stories of sadistic feasts on the brains of living animals. The Western telling of these tales focuses on the bizarre and barbaric stereotype of The Chinese and what they are liable to eat, and depend on a certain gullibility (or a willingness to believe) on the part of the listener. While some tales have some basis in reality, the point of the telling is often prejudicial in nature; the most sensational stories frequently have no evidence of being true beyond second- and third-hand report

I love just about all of it, but one of my all-time favorites is a spicey stir-fried shrimps & veggy dish called dop choy.

The full name of it at the place I order from is "Spicey San-Goo Dop Choy with Shrimps"
It has all the usual stir-fry veggies in it, bamboo shoots, water chesnuts, bok choy etc.

I order it extra-extra hot & spicey :D

Szechuan Beef is probably what I eat most often, but I like many different Chinese dishes. I also like Chinese soups (Wonton, Egg Flower, Hot and Sour, etc).

Dim Sum is a fine alternative Sunday brunch...

My favorite Chinese dish of all though is Arielle Lee:

...with a side order of Ariel Song:

My girlfriend is my favorite chinese dish

However, if we are talking food, most of the stuff I like I can't even name. The stuff you get in most "chinese" restaurants isn't what most chinese people eat.

One of my friends, example, really enjoys BBQ chicken feet - no joke.

A very common dim sum dish is tripe.

BBQ pig stomach is actually pretty darn good.

Western people have such limited tastes.

Got to agree here.
You have to search reasonably hard for an authentic meal in some places.
the 'chinese' i had in places in the USA was terrible.

That said, fav. meals include:
BBQ Pork - plain and simple. There are so many ways to cook this oh-so-simple meal, I can't help but have it everywhere I travel.
Same goes for BBQ Roast duck.

Followed by Fish Congee, Chicken's Feet, Bittermelon and GOOD beef brisket.
Still, I have to agree with Alex.
Unless you're eating in HongKong / China etc, you're not eating chinese.
