I for one am pretty fed up with how disposable electronic dance music has become, but Tech House and Progressive House is still way more listenable (and well uhhh...musical) than trance. Don't you get tired of the same melodies rehashed through another voice or filter and the same terrible punga punga drum arrangements?

I'm not attacking your taste at all, I just want to know what keeps you interested in this?

not to mention breaks and drum and bass....both of those still have a great underground scene that can't be heard on any radio station across the country whos motto is _____._ THE BEAT! haha

True Jace, I actually went to a great DnB night over here in nyc a few weeks ago, and it was so good that I went and actually bought DnB vinyl for the first time in like a year and a half.

I blame the whole shittiness of these scenes on file sharing, cheap music production tools, and CD Decks becoming standard.

And I authorize myself to lay this blame because I stopped buying mix CD's in 2001 due to napster and I've made lots of terrible EDM tunes using various shitty programs, and as hard as I tried to be a vinyl loyalist, I stopped buying records....

i still buy records and mp3s just because I HAVE to have new music every week, being a dj.....but I know what you mean...shit, i spend at least $150-200 a week on records alone, my vinyl wall is HUGE, LOL

i will tell you this though, as great as a packaged mix cd is, NOTHING beats a live bootleg dj set from your favorite file sharing program

one of the main reasons Tiesto is SOOOOOO huge, he has an insane marketing machine behind him....remember tony the tiger? how about when mcdonalds relaunched? how about altoids?
now add Tiesto in the mix of those last products, and you have the Leo Burnett agency....when you have that kind of power behind you, everyone knows your name and thinks you are the best in your field

That's cool dude, I would be buying new music every week too, but now I'm just not into EDM as much as I used to be. Now I appreciate good songwriting and instrumental music n stuff. EDM just doesn't hold my attention anymore unless I'm mixing it or drunk off my face in the club. Gone are the days of listening to a set in the car, and being affected by these weird and new electronic sounds. Tis a shame....I'll always love Sasha's San Francisco Global Underground 009 and the like.

Personally, I am the same way, i love everything....

i will tell you this though, there is no better laugh than to have a club pumpin hard to some serious breaks, and in the middle of a set throw in "killing in the name of" or something like it....and the crowd loves it! haha

Well, look at you - you sound and look like a failure. The fact that you are on my ass on this board proves how much of a failure you really are.

Plus that fact that you cannot tell the diff between a surfer (dunefield) and a webmaster. How the hell are you running sites without even the basic knowledge of how things work.

Who give a shit about Tiesto? This is about you...being a failed DJ.

Right, you have a gig every night and bring in tons of $, yet you have the time to make a thread about me?

Actually, i have been laying off you, I just explained the fact that the original poster posted a MIX and not a TRACK....and you instantly came back with an insult

haha, i have been in this business since you were surfing for porn in your mothers basement, little man

the fact that I ride you a little shows my boredom, nothing to do with failure

I was just chatting with dunefield in this thread, I have no idea who he is or what he does...but at least he doesn't come onto GFY screaming about all the bandwidth he is using, when everyone knows he probably doesn't even run a 1gb/month site

i'm not worked up... obviously you are since you stated i'm a surfer and jace is a failed dj and now you're getting all defensive with your comments...

here's a hint... if you don't know what you're talking about it's best to stay quiet...
