$20 for dsl
$20 for the isp (yeh i know that's retarded) and $5 having a router that will handle a little packet switching so i can have Geek parties. 16 port hub, whoo hoo. Never thought I would be this guy. =). Last year I was paying $144.90 a month (we were ocked down in a contract from 3 years ago, when they were the only provider in the area) |

$45 CND for dsl - tax included.
$22.00 dialup Thinking I should upgrade to cable and drop the dialup. That would be extra $20-$25 per month. |

Why so expensive. DSL here is $40/month and 3 dial ups would be about $30/month. |

You all are getting ripped off.
I pay $30/month for cable. The speeds are (in kilobits) 8000/1000 constantly. I've had the service since January of 2000 and there has been virtually no downtime and the speeds have increased since then! -eru ![]() |

About a year ago I got my cable through @home which offered up to 6 static ips... it was kickass. Then they changed over, now its been bumped down to 2 static ips which sucks ass having been used to the other (cam stuff). We pay like $85 for the whole digital cable package and still keep a dial up for backup. So far so good. Might be getting dsl soon too.
But fucking cable tv.... there's never any shit on tv, and the downside to this package is when my cable goes, out, its NO TV, NO INTERNET...aaaahhhhhhhhh! It does not happen much or I'd switch. |

When we lived in Death Valley, we had a night when the local dial up numbers weren't working. We dialed into the next town, but one of us forgot to change back to the local dial up number. So, my next months dial up phone bill cost me over 2 grand.
Needless to say, I am very happy that I now live in a populated area that offers cable modems for $60/month. |

$42 for 256kbps ADSL (office)
$26 for 256kbps ADSL (home) -> I pay less because I use my office ISP there, since I'm never here and there at the same time (in Brazil we pay for the ADSL line + ISP... it sucks) $30 for 1 non-adult site hosting + dial-up But years ago I used to pay like $400 (28.8 kbps dial-up + phone bill). |
