$750 Icon design contest!!

Hey designers, make a quick $750!

We need 9 icons created for our new webcam site, Live Video Network.

This mockup page should give you an idea of our color scheme, etc:

The first 6 icons must be a matching set, to appear on buttons for users to communicate with performers on this page:

http://www.livevideonetwork.com/temp/profilecopy.htm

They'll appear on the 6 buttons right underneath the performer picture. We prefer that they are simple, elegant, and clear. Also, the 'chat' button should somehow stand out more than the others. Can be a different color button, or icon... up to you.

The other 3 icons will be directly underneath, in the 'My Availability' section. These don't need to be matching, but should look similar, and be in keeping with the others. These will not be clickable buttons, so can appear with or without the black squares. Also, these should have an on and off (greyed) state.

For these 3 we thought it may be nice to see a simple female silhouette for private, same silhouette rotated (like from a couple angles) for group, etc. But that's just one idea, and we'll be happy to see whatever you think will work best.

Please watermark your work- we'd like exclusive use of these icons.

pink electric- Nice work. To be clear... We've already designed buttons for the 'Get to know me' section, just looking for icons to appear on the buttons. I really like your icons for the 'My availability' section. I have a few comments.. should I icq you?

I've decided to provide feedback for designs submitted, here in the thread, instead of via icq or email so that all designers can benefit from the information.

If you aren't comfortable having your work publicly critiqued, just let me know and I'll gladly respect that. Also, you certainly aren't required to follow my suggestions, but its probably a good idea.

AdultRMX- Very good submission, thanks for your efforts!

'Get to know me' icons- Quite nice. I'm not especially crazy about the chat icon. That little 'person' animation has a very asexual feel- got anything sexier for that button? This is the most important button, because it'll link to our chat area, which is how we'll sell private and group shows. Also, I like the 'my pictures' icon a lot, but in looking closely, the person in the photograph looks like it could be a child- and that's a big no-no.

'My Availability' icons- If possible, the icon should represent the type of show offered. Using the same image for all 3 options probably won't work so well. Also, these look somewhat like buttons.. Remember the icons in this section will not be functional buttons, they are only indications to tell the user what type of performance the model is available for. Finally, although I like your decision to integrate the site color in the 'Get to know me' buttons, I don't think these colors work as well, in this section.

I hope you'll continue to develop this submission... but either way, THANKS!

Pinkish1- Very stylish submission, bravo!

'Get to know me' icons- Have a good style. Possible to 'crank up' the 'chat' icon? This is how most of our revenues will be generated.

Payment/Deadline ?'s

I've received a bunch of inquiries about payment/deadline.

Payment will be via ACH direct deposit for US residents, or wire transfer if the winner is from outside the US. Either way, payment will be immediate.

The deadline for this contest is next Friday, December 16th, 2005.

'Get to know me' icons:

Vvvery original work! The theme you've created is unique and eye-catching. Although I applaud your originality, I don't think this scheme fits in very well with the rest of the page/site. Can you find a middle ground?

'I'm available for' icons:

Should stay away from multiple performers in the 'group performance' icon. Remember- this icon represents a show by one performer for many users... not a show with multiple performers. Also, would like the 'private performance' and 'free chat' icons to be different.

It's going to be tough to determine a winner when the time comes- so many good submissions!

Which is your favorite? And Why?

So far, my favorite is PinkElectric because the detailed icons look very high quality, are easily understood and match the scheme of the site well.
