Third party counters are for people who are also mesmerized by small shiny objects.
They steal your traffic. They dont count worth a fuck. Stick to server logs or find a perl script to do the job, and do the job better. |

third party counters are only really good for getting new clients on pre-paid ads. If you arn't doing pre-paid ads and constantly looking for new clients then you're a fool to use them. (unless of course you need the ego boost)
there - some useful info. Don't expect much more.

and besides, why do you want everyone to know how much traffic you do have or how much traffic you do not have?

I actually only use my server stats but I ran across an article a while ago and bookmarked x-stats link because they offer/offered an invisible counter. That would be the only way I would put a counter on my sites but I wanted to know some of what you told me... is it worth it.
So many different sites have those ugly flashing traffic leaks on their sites I started wondering, If they are willing to risk some traffic, no matter how minimal, I wonder what makes it worth it?! |
