Try as I might I can never get around to it - it's just never as important as the dozen projects 24 hours away from being impending disasters at any one time... And it's been 5 years.. lol. do most people write to them - is my kid the only one in the village not getting an xmas card (sent to me by worldvision to send back) from his bastard sponsor? I'd rather buy him a goat or something on visa.. sooo much easier.

WorldVision is very much a part of the 'right wing conspiracy' circle that would just assume see your porn ass starving and dead.

    Please stop sending them money.

Might consider looking into Heifer International instead. Much more sustainable giving.

Oh trust me I know they give them bibles to eat and all that. As an atheist I'm very aware of all of that, and as a realist I know that all the money doesn't make it to the child, but in the end it came down to there not being as much choice 5-6 years ago in terms of easy research on alternatives, I didn't exactly find the non-religious equivalent so instead of doing nothing I went ahead with WorldVision.

Heifer looks awesome though.. exactly the sort of thing I would like to do, buy two goats for $250 and set a family up to look after themselves and the community. It's bookmarked. I just rang up WV after posting this thread though and made a $150 donation to buy school equipment for the kids in my kid's village and a soccerball and pump on top of it for him.
