Why the fuck are projectors so expensive
Am I missing something? Can anyone who has a projector tell me why its better to pay $2k for a box the size of a VCR instead of a 50" plasma?

I got a decent one for like 900 I think it was. Fills my wall and with a 15ft ceiling that's a nice picture ;)

projectors are the shit to play video games on
we are allowed to 'check out' projectors from our college library for a week at a time. we will check them out and have a gaming fest for a week and then take it back in and walk right back out with another one. projectors rock!

I bought mine about 5 or so years ago, an svga lcd one for over $4k with crap contrast. Nowadays any DLP projector for a little over $1k blows it out of the water.

I was just looking at these yesterday.. I was surprised at how small some of the actual images the 1-2k projectors made.. like not really that much bigger than plasma.
