Is the online adult industry going the way of coke/pepsi and energizer/duracell?

The more you dig into many of the new programs these days, the more you find that they're not new companies, just new programs.

Many companies are owning 3, 4 or 5+ programs and some even try rather hard to "not tell" anyone that all those programs are under the umbrella of one company.

Coke and Pepsi basically are the only two soda companies... they just make all the other kinds of pop and bottle water that are out there.

Energizer and Duracell basically are the only two battery companies, they just make all the other kinds out there that we think are "no name."

Will the adult industry eventually end up working it's way into 2 or 3 mega companies that own all the rest without us knowing it?

Naw, I doubt it.

Nearly anybody has the resources to work at one aspect or another in the adult industry - from home.

Its a little more difficult to start your own soda factory in the basement, though.

Sure, the big corps will continue assimilating 'little guys' - but it will never be a total takeover. There's still plenty of adult entrepreneurs floatin' around out there with fresh new ideas, drive and ambition...that enjoy doin' what they do and aren't in it for the corporate buck.

Yeah... 7up to pepsi is the same as sprite is to coke.

I dunno about the US, but in here it's been for as long as I can remember. I don't know whether they have different arrangements in europe/finland (we don't have dr.pepper at all)

I don't think it will shrink down to just 2 or 3....but it's definitely consolidating big time.

Funny comparison ... but yes, it seems that way. I know many larger programs that buy other ones revamp them, give them a new look, more content and bam, more sales. What seems to be happening is they can't get past X number of sales a day and hit that wall so what next? Buy a new program and do above, revamp. Hit that number again, repeat cycle. It's actually easier to start a new affiliate program with new sites and fresh content than to try and get new sales once the program started to die out, or so I've heard. ; ) But sshhh... this is GFY and we are talking business on a Saturday nonetheless!

Dr Pepper/7up (Cabury Scweppes) owns the following brands:

A & W
Canada dry
Country time
Deja blue
DNL
Hawaiian punch
Hired root beer
Motts
Raging cow
RC cola
Diet rite
Red fusion
Schweppes
Slush puppie
Snapple
Squirt
Sundrop
Sunkist
Vernors
Welchs

In many areas or regions they have a distribution agreement with Pepsi to allow in certain brands Dr Pepper/7 UP own. Yet in now way here in the US or elsewhere does Pepsi own any of Dr Pepper/7 UP.
