I have offically been bit by the Lost bug

I fought it..I even watched a couple episodes over the months and came out healthy but then one night while I was in the States I watched the first episode on dvd...then the second...then the third.

Now I am sitting here watching the rest of the first season on DVD while I work. I am only glad I could buy it in the States where it was much cheaper than over here.

I have yet to see an episode, but someone gave me their copy of the first season this weekend.

I know better than to start and get sucked in. The last time I did that I didn't get off the couch for a week watching the first three seasons of 24.

Yeah, I grabbed the first season on iTunes when it first came out because I wanted to see how well the iTunes video worked, and I got hooked on the show a little bit. For a network show it is really good. I think the writers are pretty inconsistent with the personalities of characters. But in general I can see what the buzz is about.

In last week's episode when Kate goes into her father's recruitment office, look who's on the T.V. in the background. If you Tivo'd it, go back and watch that scene. It will freak you out.

I saw last week's when i was in the states...that sort of thing happens throughout the whole show. You need to watch backgrounds all the time.

I was the same until I started from the begining. My mistake before was trying to pick it up in the middle.

It isn't the smartest show I have ever watched (I am a smart show person) but it does what it does very well.

That screenshot of the character Sayid on the TV in the background is just a perfect example of how, for lack of a better word, phenomenal this show is. Little details like that that cause the viewer to compile their own theories for the show is the greatest element of the show. LOST does kind of get annoying when more questions are spawned rather than answered, but I find that it keeps the show 'fresh' and unsaturated.

Yup when they took the dog he was on the tv in the background and Sawyer was in the police station when the Brother was trying to get his sister's boyfriend arrested.

Hate to tell you guys, but there are no new episodes until January
I watch maybe 1 or 2 shows every year and Lost has been my main show for the last 2 years. The second season so far has been a little more drawn out than the first but I think it advanced things more and set up some major stuff for the rest of the episodes this season.
If you are looking for some good info on lost this is an awesome site: http://www.lost-tv.com

Great show! I was in the same boat as you Sarah, I didn't get into the first season until they showed it in reruns over the summer - then I was hooked! I'm usually out on wed nights but I get my husband to record it for me I can't miss it!

(And I think they new season is awesome. The whole series is original, inventive, and well thought out.)

Lost is about the only show that I make sure to watch, at least till Sci-Fi is running fresh stuff on Friday nights.

I will agree that it is an intelligent show. Which makes it amazing that it is doing as well as it is. Smart shows usually don't do well, probably because the average viewer doesn't understand them.

My mother is a Sci Fi nut...I think Lost is working because it is sci fi enough to keep that crowd hanging in and 'reallistic' enough to keep drama fans around too.
