I want to directly hook up a 300 gig external hd to a plasma so I can see the contents/ play movies anyone know how?

You can't just hook up a harddrive to a tv, you need some kind of computer in between. Like one of those media center pcs or whatever.

I have a 300 gig HDD in my XBox which is also linked into my Network.

You can do it this way or with some sort of Media Center PC.
