I finally figured out where they got the ideas for the first such game.

(me) Trying to install a program:
(it): Please install libxml++-1.0 or 2.6 where pkg-config and scons can find it

(10 minutes later)

(me) finds libxml++
(it): gtkmm24 >= 2.6.0 is needed by libxml++2-2.12.0-1.1.fc4.nr.i386
(me)

(10 minutes later)

(me) finds gtkmm24
(it): libcairo.so.2 is needed by gtkmm24-2.8.1-1.1.fc4.nr.i386
(it): libpangocairo-1.0.so.0 is needed by gtkmm24-2.8.1-1.1.fc4.nr.i386
(me):

(15 minutes later, after finding both of those):

(it): glitz is needed by cairo-1.0.2-1.1.fc4.nr.i386
(it): libpixman >= 0.1.5 is needed by cairo-1.0.2-1.1.fc4.nr.i386

try guild wars it is cool no need to find some patches or anything it updates itself while you are playing thru the net.. btw it is online rpg game with cool graphics

nice. i played DnD and even Marvels when i was a kid.

However, DnD has slacked majorly in the MMORPG field, and that is what I was referring to.

I have my monster manual still on the shelf. But in todays world, you need to be online or people like me cannot play.

Ultima will forever be the reigning champion of online rpg games.

also, in regards to "quests" - no game even comes close to the latest quest sytem running across Ultima shards (servers)

and thats what the thread is about, not rolling die and paper charachters. ;)
