To all the folks who are "nobodies" and aren't making much money

But, you've been at it for a year plus and trying to catch on and figure it out.

To those who post on boards for entertainment but try to garner as much knowledge as possible and pick up on tips from others.

To those who are having problems with the learning curve of this industry, but are still trying and have been trying for a year plus.

To those who never give up, who have sacrificed so much not for adult, not for prestige, not for online popularity; but because you believe it's your destiny to be self-sufficient, self-employed and self-empowered - AND you have the ambition, no matter how many bad things befall you to keep pushing through...

    I fucking salute you.

    You have my respect.

You deserve the respect of those who have made it and are making it.

Don't be afraid to ask for help, let the bullshitters bullshit and the haters hate. And don't fall into the trap of whoring boards pretending to be someone while trying to win a bunch of contests or reg fake nicks to make begging threads.

You're a Natural Born Hustler. And you live to hustle, you don't hustle to live.

Anyone who knows what I'm talking about and feels like they're taking two steps back everytime they take a step forward and so on, hit me up. If possible, I will help where I can, and point you in the right direction when I cannot.

Also important for people who are struggling to know that while there are people here that do make a great deal of money there are also a lot that claim they make a lot more than they do. That isn't to knock anybody but once you realise that it may make some feel it is a bit less of an up hill fight.

The old cliche about real estate is - location, location, location.

With the adult industry - perseverance is king.

Too many people get into it with unreasonably high expectations of quick bucks...not realizing that it takes time to gain momentum and get a foothold.

As content producers, our initial investment in the beginning was around $15k (cameras, lighting, props, set construction, computers, software, etc.)...and it took us nearly two years before we broke even. But we were prepared to eat the initial investment during that time, so it wasn't a financial hardship.

But the 16-hour days eventually paid off farther down the road. It was just a matter of time and commitment.

I recall 16 hours a day and trying everything to make a buck.
It felt like things were going nowhere. You are correct, keep at it and it will
eventually come. Takes time and patience. One last thing there is NO EASY MONEY in adult, you will earn it in the beginning with long hours and days of frustration.

Yea well maybe the problem is that today it is a lot harder than it was 3 years ago. I would not get into this biz today as a newbie. The amount of effort to make a dime here is greater than what you could expend doing some other things like simply buying a condo. Back in 2001 I spent 50 grand to get sobegirl off the ground. I made it back in 2 months. Today is a different story. But yea, let's all give them high hopes and keep them sending traffic to the galleries.

It gets geometrically more difficult each passing year for a newbie to start, simply because of the glut of websites and content out there. The A-Z of niches has been all but covered by now, and its tougher to come up with a truly innovative idea.

Back in '95 when we started making fantasy bondage photo illustrations, there was only a half dozen others that were doing similiar work, and maybe only one or two that were doing them with any sort of quality. When we launched our first site in '99, we started exceeding our webhost's 2gb/day bandwidth limit within the first month.

Today, websites that cater to the same niche are abundant as more and more photoartists figure out the photoshop and compositing techniques needed.
