Buying Traffic Basics #1 Webcam Sites
I get so many questions about traffic I simpy do not have the time to answer the same questions over and over, and I suck at FAQS. So I was thinking to make some business posts here so people can discuss traffic. If it works I will make frequent posts if not oh well. Other brokers are welcome to join in.
Webcam sites One of the most common questions I get asked is what kind of traffic to buy for webcam sites. I have practically no dedicated webcam traffic and I do not know of anyone that does have any. Many webcam guys get disgruntled when they cannot find webcam traffic and end up just not buying any traffic at all. HUGE mistake. Webcams are so common nowadays that any sort of traffic works on them. Common sense tells you that you don't buy mature traffic to a page with teen webcam models. Buy niched traffic for the niche the page is. I think webcam pages with thumbs of online models works the best. The more thumbs you have on the page, the better the chances are a surfer seeing a model he likes and clicking on it. Make the site like a TGP, but all the thumbs link to webcams. LINK TO WEBCAMS that have a feed of the model with free chat that the surfer does NOT have to register to participate in. If you have a mix of models buy general traffic. If you have say 6 columns of thumbs, make the far right column gay, but mark it clearly so a surfer does not accidently click on it. If you are going to skim to trades from these thumbs, make the skim low and use f=2 or f=3. Don't trade the surfer away until he sees a few galleries. Webcams are not the same as movie galleries or pic galleries. It may take a surfer 10 clicks to find a webcam girl he likes. The biggest mistake I see webcam sites making are the sites who have very few feeds. Lots of guys start webcam sites and hire their own models. When starting out they have less than a dozen models online and thus offer the surfer very little variety. Fill in the section after your models with Lars or homegrown feeds, make the site full. As you get more and more of your own models, cut back on the feeds from other webcam sites. Better yet list them under a Bonus section. Surfers love the "bonus" word.
