How much $ would you want per search?
I have a client that I am building a pay per search program for --non porn but adult-related product. I'd like to know how much REALISTICALLY would webmasters and free host operators want to get paid for putting pay per search boxes on their pages. Boxes work this way--user enters info or clicks drop down menu, goes to a refine page, picks specific result he wants and gets results page.
The options are 10 cents, 20 cents, and 5 cents per search. |

Of course we all want $1.00 per click or more but my client also needs to turn a profit. Put it this way... is FIVE CENTS a click REALISTIC? |

How about this,
you build it, make us an offer to promote it and you'll know if it works or not. mojo was doing .05 I'd start there. |

This is merely a question. It applies a little to the subject but not really. Why are the the bids for keywords on google's new "Adwords Select" so expensive? Some of the keywords costs upwards of $1.00/click even on non-porn keywords for pills and other online drugs.
Which one??? a) its worth the money for the traffic b) google is running up the bids to get money from dumb people c) top ranked web sites driving out competition (worth the money) d) all the above at happy mediums each e) other f) you're an idiot Maybe you should pay people based on the keyword people select and the link clicked on there after. Are you going to up-sell the traffic to bidders on your link list? Maybe you could somehow alter the click's value. Telling webmasters that they could make up to .30 (but the average would be .15) would look good from a marketing stand point. There are alot of angles you could take that would make it a bad-ass program. How good of a programmer are you??? lol good luck |

some keywords on google have a reserve price because of the price they were achieving under the per impression program.
Though I can see this dying off in time ( I hope ) I've seen some general niche terms well over a dollar and i dont think that is really sustainable for the webmaster in the long run |

I could believe all of the advertisements for keywords like "hgh". Unreal isn't it. Maybe its worth it, but at a $1/click I'm scared to try.

you got it backwards man.
You have to know how much is every click worth to you, and then work backwards to how much you want to pay for that click. then see how much the competition (if any) offers and maybe offer a few cents above them. you'll have to squeeze as much as possible from every search you get |

Bingo. Test the waters with a link from TheHun or traffic purchased at a flat rate, and use script to track the value per click. Now you know the cost of aquisition expressed as a number of clicks. Not hard to get from there to dollars.
