You're talking about the greatest leader we've ever had.
Nixon was great TV and scandal ruined his greatness.
Reagan though people fault him, was one of the few great leaders we've had in a long time. CLinton was incredible charismatic when we needed it.

FDR.
In what way, exactly, is Reagan considered great? Getting away with Iran-Contra? Great at subverting the will of the Congress and violating Constitutional restrictions regarding seperation of powers?
He happened to be in office when the Soviet Union collapsed under it's own weight. That's IT. The USSR would have collapsed if we had had a sock puppet in the oval office, which we basically did. He fucked Bush 1 by taking out short term high interest loans to prop up the economy when he was in office and left Bush to pay the bill. He was non compos mentos for at least half his term with advancing Alzheimer's Disease.
There is a serious effort by Republicans to deify this guy and ram bills thru the legislature renaming every airport and civic building IN THE WORLD after him, but it's all PR. He did NOTHING to deserve it except get re-elected.
