We will never win over terrorism in the middle east ,these people have been fighting each other for 1000's of years to think we are going to end that is stupid. You want to stop terrorism its easy give them lots of employment. When people have things to lose, they arent so quick to strap bombs on themselves or support those actions.

We would literally have to go over there and change entire governments to change the way of life - things like employment and education.

yeah he was a war hawk who couldn't even fulfill his national guard obligations. Just like the rest of his cabinet.

Hey Kenny, we DID have a democrat in office. He balanced the budget, gave us a surplus, brought peace to Ireland and Kosovo and was in the process of settling the issues in the Middle East. He brought himself up from absolute poverty and became a Rhodes Scholar at an Ivy League institution, which he had to EARN admission to, unlike spoiled brat Georgie.

He liked blowjobs though, so he was no good to conservatives like theking.

Congress is starting to seriously stir about getting our asses out of that quagmire soon. Remember when that asshole stood onboard that aircraft carrier in 2003 and declared Mission Accomplished. Really?! Two plus years later and 2000 plus Americans dead and counting and we're still there, severely undermanned, underequipped and without a real exit strategy.
Please don't speak about this man's Ivy League background. A C student at best and that was made possible by dear 'ol Dad, not from George hitting the books. Everything this man has touched has turned to shit. All of his businesses have failed.
Yes, all presidents have made errors or have not acted the way some of us would have hoped. This one disappoints and blunders on so many levels it's hard to list. And great Presidents, I, for one, believe the guy we had in office for 8 years prior to Bush was truly one of the great leaders we've had in the past 100 years. And he was a Rhodes scholar who went to Oxford.
BTW University of Florida graduate, BS in Journalism as long as we're qualifying here.

I too think that he is the worst President (though it may be a toss up between him and President Reagan)...in my lifetime...but I also have found fault with every administrations policies in my lifetime...which includes President Clinton. I too have been around since Eisenhower.

The difference is the Bushes are spoiled rich brats from whom nothing is expected and to whom everything is given. The Kennedys were expected to accomplish great things, and if they didn't they were cut off from the seat of power.

Check out the difference between JFK's war record and Bush's. Ever heard of PT109?

Peggy Noonan was interviewed on the Daily show last night and even though she's a staunch Republican, she didn't have anything nice to say about the President.

Here's some truth for ya.

6 BILLION a MONTH to keep our troops in Iraq.

Mid January FEMA will no longer pay for those displaced by hurricane Katrina.

Yep, he's a great president.

That's not necessarily true.

I can't stand Bush, but when people make up shit about him, I'll point it out. That certainly doesn't make me a Bush supporter. Objective, yes.

My feeling is that there's enough out there that he REALLY fucked up with that we don't need to make things up or distort the truth.

How much does it cost if those troops aren't in Iraq.

I mean say if we moved them all to North Carolina and Florida.

I've always wondered about that. Same thing with Jets and Aircraft carriers they aren't exactly setting under a tarp waiting for a war.

I liked Clinton, but I seriously doubt all that. Clinton is an elite just like the Bush's. Poor boys from Arkansas don't meet Presidents (JFK) and become Rhodes Scholars. I suspect he was the bastard son of Lawrence Rockefeller or someone similar.

Problem there is no regular housing. I saw an interview with a family that was shipped to NYC. Now FEMA is cutting them off and telling them to get housing in NYC. Fucking brilliant. A studio apt in NYC goes for around $1500 - 2000.

At Least 31 Iraqis Killed; 22 Die in Other Violence

BAGHDAD, Nov. 24 -- A suicide attacker steered a car packed with explosives toward U.S. soldiers giving away toys to children outside a hospital in central Iraq on Thursday, killing at least 31 people. Almost all of the victims were women and children, police said.

Iraqi security officials said they believed that Iraqi police or U.S. forces were the target of Thursday's bombing outside the general hospital in Mahmudiyah.

None the less...they will be housed somewhere and FEMA (FEMA had ordered tens of thousands of trailers but I do not know what the status is on delivery of same)...or the local welfare services will continue to pay. They will not be put out on the streets just out of the hotels. Many...and maybe most...have said they do not want to go back to NO.

From someone who was displaced by 9-11 with my wife and child, FEMA doesn't give a flying fuck if you have a place to go or not.

They don't give a shit about the people, they just want to clear up the paperwork.

As though it matter a toss what Bush says. What Bush says and what Bush does are two totally different things. He loves talking the talk and sometimes does that coherently.

*Any* elected leader of the western world has more cred and background qualification than the Texas moron allegedly elected to lead the "most powerful country" - sheesh, that's a sad thought. :(

That "idiot" and "moron" will continue to screw the US till the end of his term and get that nation into deeper shit (like it ain't already?) than it has ever been - another sad thought :(

Totally agree Tony! :thumbsup

Ya can't "win" against people who have spent centuries defending themselves and use whatever strategies to achieve their ends. It was only recently they pushed back Russian forces inflicting serious casualties - then move to the hills and get ready for the next assault.

You ever see footage a few years back of em fighting in Afghanistan? Hell.. no way can "conventional armies" stand a chance. They have no hesitation flying low in copters at night talking bullet rounds from the ground - they just don't give a shit. Some know they are going to die in a skirmish, but accept that's what they have to do.

Most likely, it's these same people we now brand "terrorists". What are they? Sheep farmers. Some of their "projects" (between taking bullet rounds) include building school desks for their local schools and trying to educate their families. They are no different to anyone else in other countries.

With the exception of a minority of those who can be described as "extreme", they just want left alone and have peace to live their lives the way they want without external interference. They have their own culture going back 1000's of years and ain't interested in some tinpot ideas others may want to thrust on em.

It may not be the "modern" thing to do, but in several ways, ya gotta respect your "enemy" and not assume an arrogance with ideas they are inferior.

Who knows in Iraq, but suspect the current occupation will end up the same as all the others and the "invaders" will depart once more, leaving them to clean up the mess - once more.
