even if your friends smoke you, just tell them you drive a BMW. drag racing and any kind of racing in general will kill your car, but I know you will drag it anyways, I did it in my 355 on the road and on the dragstrip, I know it's stupid and it's not my kind of racing but I really had fun:glugglug and most likely you guys will be do more cruising than dragging. If I were to purchase a used BMW, I would buy it from a car dealership that offers some kind of warranty. If you don't have alittle extra money to spare I don't recommend you buying BMWs, again it's very glitchy, lots of electronics and can cause alot of problems.

Hey congrats on the choice.
Ive had one of those cars till December when I was racing some dude one night and he slipped almost crashed into me I tried to avoid him and I ended up hitting 2 trees doing 100 mph. God knows that the only thing that I can thank for being able to type now is the CAR. Honestly Ive never seen a car stand such a hit without breaking apart. That explains why the car is so heavy 1700 kgs. I am sure that if I was riding in another car I would probably be dead by now. Anyway the car is completely crashed and I mean COMPLETELY. However I will get a new one in like 10 days or so and I am sooo happy. The car is awesome it drives like wonder and it is very powerfull. Just wait and listen the sound of the 2 turbos spooling up at 2000 rpm you'll know what I am talking about. As soon as you get the car post some pics of it in this thread. I will do the same with my ex car (before the crash and after the crash). Regards! |
hey forgot to recommend you a link :
www.3si.org It's the best site devoted to 3000GT/Stealth owners any question you would have about those cars you can be sure to find an answer in their very busy message boards. |

Even with the M3 and M5 it would be a very close race if you start from a stop since you got AWD and they are RWD. I tell you the 3000GT is excellent for drag racing cause of the AWD. I used to race it every night and the only car that totally beat the shit of me was a Lamborghini Diablo. All the BMWs and Mercedeses Ive raced were beaten. |
Gotta agree with Hungryman , BMW is the way to go, I have had
3 and I have loved them all. Can't beat the quality and ride but look around, there a lot around, don't get the car from someone "young", most likely it has been roasted. But I would throw in a couple of grand extra and go for a newer model as Kuwawawah suggested. :2 cents: |

Do TVR sell well in the US?
Here in the UK they are about the most HP you'll get for your money. |
Hell yeah TeenFlood! :thumbsup That pic reminds of those days I was lighting them up in the HS parking lot back in my Black 1995 Lightning SVT. Damn I miss that truck! Ended up destroying the tranny right before it hit 50k miles. I can't even tell ya the fun I had with sports cars unknowingly picking races with me at reds. If that's yours I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. My buddy has a new one identical to the one in your pic and when that supercharger gets wound up she gets nasty! Can't not mention that "idiot traction" feature of those Lightnings.
To the guy thinking about buying the VR4... If you decide to buy just make sure you have money in the bank to afford some costly repairs. Or a least decide to baby that drivetrain. Those 320 hps don't go easy on a heavy 4wd car. I might pull a few high rev launches but sooner or later you'd be pushing it off the road. You could get lucky and get one that hasn't had much abuse but not likely. Yeah It could end up being a decient car for under 10k but just be careful. First GFY Post! Woohoo... And Yes I'm already fucking myself Later |

meta, vr4's are damn nice cars........but;) they are ment to be toys taken out on the weekend. no doubt you can drive them daily, but you will pay for the pleasure eventualy.
i'd suggest driving a 94-97 Camaro Z28. those years are in your price range. for the $ you get 285hp + awsome handleing and ride. but more important, durability...if you dont dog it. (however they can take some punishment;) mod's are cheaper than a mitsu and 400 hp can be achieved quite cheaply (1-2k doing it right) ive owned several f bodys and they are the most liveable sports car you can buy in that price range. and trust me, you'll smoke a vr4, ive done it many times) as far as BMW's wait till you get out of college, doing burnout's in a bimmer are just uncivilized;) |
I'm in europe and even i imported a nice JEEP ... :feels-hot
Fucking european cars. They dont consume enough gas... hehh... |
Yeah - there is a good idea - tkae that 10k and buy a pimped out old muscle car like a camaro, a GTO, or a Chevelle if you want to kick some ass drag racing...
If the Mitsubishi has 80k already and you are about to go drive the shit out of it all the time - it won't be long before something *pops* at 100+ MPH... The BMW will wins you soem races, but also score you more chicks etc... "yeah your car is fast, but your gf is my passenger seat now -cya" :1orglaugh |
as far as BMW's wait till you get out of college, doing burnout's in a bimmer are just uncivilized;) [/B][/QUOTE]
hehe, who said anything about being civilized? actually, ive thought about a corvett or a camaro, but my friends keep making fun of me, saying i should first grow a mullet, as that one of the requirements to driving one of those when your young :Graucho right now, im thinking about the VR4 or a beemer..... where I live, there are hardly any beemers, and the ones that are here, are driven by old folks....so i guess a beemer might be a real good choice too.... beemer, or VR4 guys? I wanan kep it for 2 years, abuse it a bit, not spend anything on repairs, sell, buy something nicer. beemer or vr4? |
hold on, mullit? i had my first at 18 and i didnt have one, fuck ur friends;)
dude, if you dont want to spend $ on repairs, keep the honda what ever you get, if its over 60k miles, Replace the timimg chain, it only costs around $500, if ur gonna do what i think you'll do, (burnouts, dragrace, get tickets) the motor will last longer and run better bimmer, or vr4, bimmer 3 series...........start a tgp to pay for it |
Mullet and muscle cars pretty much go together now a days.... not back in the days when these cars were cool!
metaform remember to dye your mullit blond!, and buy stickers that say "built ford though" or "friends dont let friends drive chevy" |
89-92 porsche 944

Well, where I come from, there weren't many mullet heads. Really, the Camaro's were the car of choice for any true blue Guido. A perfect match for the silk shirts, gold chains, and Capezios! Anyone remember the old metal song, "Bitchin' Camaro"? LOL that was a funny fucking song.
Once I put just a little work in to my Mustang, it ate up Camaro's. Until they came out with 350's again. Fuckers. I never had the time/cash to go nuts on the motor back then. Still like the Ford mods better. But either US hot rod would be a great choice for dragging. Change the gears, slap a under the hood blower on the bitch - you'll be hard to beat. Someone said find an OLD Camaro, or Chevelle? Fuck, that isn't too easy to do. Unless it's a west coast car, it is either rotted, or costs a fortune. |

im sure he is prolly just a exception =] as fasr as the VR4, i dont have any pics of it, but now im reallly leanning towards getting the bimmer. Whatever car i get though, ill be sure to post some pics for anyone that actually cares |

Are 3000GT's the same car as Dodge Stealth?
320 HP is pretty damn sweet! |
Quote:
the problem is the cars are very heavy and they lose alot of HP when it gets to the wheels. the 1/4 mile times are 14.2 thats slow as fuck |
hyper, 14.2 is slow?
that is stock 14.2, and actuially, i believe the correct number is 14 flat anyways though, you put some headers, intakes, and exhaust on it and you got yourself a 13 second car keep in mind a stock 2001 NSX runs a 13.6! a stock 1993 VR4 runs a 14! thats damn good, considering a 2001 NSX is gonna cost you 60k+ a VR4 is anything but slow |
