External HD. Expert opinions wanted

Here's what's going on.

Lack of memory has been a constant problem for me for the past month or so, it's driving me nuts.

Time to get the big guns out.

I'm hunting for a 250GB external hard drive. The price difference between the different models isn't large enough for me to consider that an issue. It's whether or not the thing will crap on me that I worry about.

So what are the good brands out there? Which one to stay away from? Your input is appreciated

Stick with western digital, i've ran 100 computer networks in the past, the seagates, ibm's, toshibas etc. all burnt out well beforehand.

I agree, seagate is out here. I'm using 5 maxtor 250's here and never had a problem.
