I am in the same boat, but I dont know if its because of my work, or maybe because I have kids now, and do not have time to hang out with my friends like I used to.

alot of people in this biz pretend like they are your friends and are actually just acquaintences. the number of true friends i have in this biz is very small. thank god for my dj career and the friends i've made outside of the adult space. i think thats all i'll say on that one. ;)

I don't hang out with anyone in the industry. I am not exactly in an area rich with them (that are public about it anyway).

I surround myself with successful people though.

That is very true, if I suddenly lost all my traffic, it wouldn't surprise me to see a lot of people just not bother to talk to me anymore. I would say the best friends I have in this business are the ones I don't do any business with at all in fact.

It seems to be easier to associate with those in the industry.
We have friends outside but at some stage they all wanted in. hahaha
The friends that we have kept are those that don't judge us about
what we do. I'm happy with those that I surround myself with,
I couldn't ask for better friends and or biz coleagues.
So when we gonna hang out next RogerV?

Interestin' questions and some very interestin' answers.

We (the wife and I) have a lot of industry acquaintances...and a few close local friends in the industry. Generally we find most BDSM/fetish people are rather more, well...publically flamboyant than we are, so its rare when we find personal friends that are more 'normal' in appearance.

We're not overly social much of the time, though...interferes with work mostly.

i try and date a lot outside of industry people but they just can't keep up.

i don't necessairly want an industry girl but i'm thinking I need to find me one to end up with.... the sex drive, the mindset, and the motivation as well as just general travel ablity would be cool.

I have just as many non-industry friends when I started the business as I do now (if not more).

I try and keep up relationships with my non-industry friends because I know they are my FRIENDS. Not just because I have something to offer them... They will be there in the end when I get out of this biz and still be at my side and want to go out for beers and talk about the Leafs and our wives/girlfriends.

WG, us traffic guys are in a very interesting position in this biz, it's hard to say if we get invited to parties/social events because we have lots of traffic or because people actually enjoy our company (I would like to say the latter but I doubt it LOL) ;)

I came into adult entertainment from my experience in the kink and non-monogamy communities, as well as through sex-positive activism and my old radio show. I have a lot of great friends in the sex-positive communities, alot of business associates in the adult community, and only a few friends in the vanilla world.

Most of my friends in the biz I've known for 5+ years and yes we do biz together its off and on. but we never really talk biz when we are hangin out to gain something from each other. just talk about it cause we have it in common if that makes any sense.

I'm really good at reading people I know who wants something from me versus someone who just thinks i'm a kool guy etc.

Been doin this 9 years now this month and there are a few people still around who I trust

WTF the only industry friend I do have no one would believe me anyway if I told them.

All of my other friends are ones I've had for a long time (some from school even) and I still hang out with them.

I have a lot more friends outside the biz than in the biz. I've had friends going back as far as high school (and that was a LOOOONG time ago for me!) that I still hang out with as well as those I've met through other jobs through the years.

Oddly most of the people in the biz I spend time with outside industry events are those I don't actually do any business with

99% of my friends are in the biz. Sucks at times that we are all so spread out all over the world.

Normal friends turned into jealous haters when there friend makes $ and they work at wendys.

That's very true, especially if it comes to relationships.
