Thats what paysite scene is all about. They have to use very aggressive advertising because their competitors do, too.

Everyone would be better off if no aggressive adrvertising was being used.

Maybe surfers dont click banners any more - not because of TGP's - but because they are taken to a pop up hell and sites that put dialers in their desktops dammit.

I never did understand all the fuss about dialers. WTF??? I've been to countless sites, and have never once had a dialer self-install and dial something up without my knowledge. You gotta allow the fuckin' thing onto your system in the first place, and secondly... . if you do happen to be on a dialup connection, do you not realize something is up when your connection severs and dials a new number? Are dialup modems completely silent now? Shouldn't there be a clue screaming at you when you suddenly have access to all kinds of porn from one place, but can't reach any other sites?

In some degree yes....but on the other hand no. If my competitors are trying to screw people they will most of all hurt themselfes. If I don't follow my competitors and just be fair to my opinion I will get rewarded for that....might not be inmediately but I am in NO way entitled to tell others how to run their business! I may not agree with it....but that's another thing.

Never try go get better by putting others down.....they will do that themselfes.....just concentrate on your own stuff. If the public thinks it's better they will chose you!

I think it depends on the nature of the paysite, whether it's aiming for member retention or trying to milk their members for as much as possible in the trial period. I don't think any paysite owner that had invested in a good members area, with frequently updated quality content would want to chase people out the door with stuff like that.

Redirecting foreign traffic to a dialer page or just auto downloading the dialer is a pretty common thing these days, since your odds of finding a foreign customer with a valid CC that will make it through the processors scrub are very slim.

I highly doubt they do this to US surfers.
They may, but since you haven't said which paysite it is we can't go see for ourselves.

On another note, unless the surfer is paying for a membership who gives a flying fuck what they like or don't like?
In case you've forgotten, webmasters own the web, not the surfers. They're our domains, our content, our bandwidth, and we can do whatever we want to with our sites, if the surfer doesn't like it then don't come back to my site. Simple as that.

Or actually I wasnt tricked - there was nothing I could do. Of course consoles make money IN SHORT TERM but if no-one used consoles EVERYONE would make more money in LONG TERM However, that is utopia, the main point is that I wouldnt wanna see really good paysites turning into self-installing tricks sites.

The point here is that everyone blames TGP's for ruining the industry, while paysites themselves are fucking the surfer and doing it pretty bad. Some paysites, that is. I dont give a fuck about TGP's nor do I defend them
