What's the point of terminating an affiliate program that shaves, but don't have affiliate ... nothing wrong with shaving themselvesOriginally posted by OysteinFranck -
The program did thousands of joins a month (after being up on the MPA3 platform less than two months) but not with a lot of affiliates. The few affiliates they had in their system looked to us like they were inhouse accounts - so in essence they were ramping up and testing that everything worked the way they wanted it to work. Do you really think we would put our company name, the MPA3 name and our program owners in the line of fire if we werent serious about this? No fake drama - real as it can be and for the better to all of us.
Imagine IF their server was hacked by someone and that "someone" saw what they had done to the code and seeing it was a MPA3 platform - who do you think would have gotten the blaim? MPA3. So, we did what was necessary and terminated them legally according to the contract. We dont fuck around with guys like this and at the end of the day we protected 1. Affiliates 2. MPA3 program owners 3. MP
We have been around since 96/97 and intend to stick around for many many more years to come Frank.
And did I mention that we are the only ones that have ACTED on something like this rather than just talking about it?
born, Dalai lama and Corleone - Thanks!
davidd - Stop living in the past. And hey, are you talking on behalf of Jason @ Flashcash? Tell him I said hi if so.
A1R3K - Any time bro. It was loads of fun!
J0EL - Shiiiit. OK OK. Next time!
POPPY - That was UNREAL! xoxoxoxoOriginally posted by rayadp05I rebooted, deleted temp files, history, cookies and everything...still cannot view the news clip. All I see is that fucking gay ass music video from "Rick Roll". Anyone else have a different link to the news clip?Comment

Only thing they forgot to do is name the program ... it's pretty useless to say they closed it if nobody was aware of it... If they do thousands of signups, they will just buy some custom scripted one and keep shaving affiliates when they officially open.Originally posted by AlienQI can imagine the damage that could have happened.
If this guy ran it and they were caught shaving or somthing, "Bang" guess who gets blamed.?
Oyestien and Co.
So they Did the right thing IMHO.Originally posted by rayadp05I rebooted, deleted temp files, history, cookies and everything...still cannot view the news clip. All I see is that fucking gay ass music video from "Rick Roll". Anyone else have a different link to the news clip?Comment

Did you miss the part where he said they were testing it to make sure it was working? Would you rather that they wait until the site was active in signing up webmasters and ripping them off to cut them off?Originally posted by Doctor DreWhat's the point of terminating an affiliate program that shaves, but don't have affiliate ... nothing wrong with shaving themselves
They did what they needed to do and cut someone off that violated the terms of their software. They issued an official statement saying what they had done before whoever they cut off went public and badmouthed them; they eliminated that chance by making it known what was going on.
They are not obligated to make it known on GFY who this person or persons were. They have a legal staff who told them to not go public, and anyone I know would listen to their legal team. Any other board you go to people are mainly saying a positive about what they did. Only here do people want blood and demand to know and use the "fake drama" card to try and intice people into saying what or who it was.
At the end of the day this is what matters:
Is someone you were sending traffic to gone?
Has this affected your business?
Are you just hungry for GFY drama?
If you answered no, no, and yes, then you really should say good job.Comment
