Do you ever show people what you do?

As an adult webmaster myself, making some ok money, people (friends/family) ask from time to time what it is I do on my computer/laptop all day long.
I always say something like: I am doing internet marketing and sales and make it sound kinda boring so they won't be bothered to ask any more questions...

But what if people come over and want you to show them what it is you're doing... do you show them how you make porn sites, submit gallery's, make freesites? Or do you have a cover-up, like mainstream webdesigns or something?

I tell certain family members exactly what I do and the others, I just tell them that I own a webhost and do webdesign. All of my friends know and have seen exactly what I do.

well.. my uncle is coming over in a week and he wants to show me some of the games he's currently playing on his pc (he's a real gamer!) on my pc. However he was asking some questions the last time I saw him about what it is I do on my pc as work. So I am sure he's gonna ask me.. can you show me?

I know him well and I really don't want to tell him I am in adult. He wouldn't like it at all... many of my closer family knows what it is I do for a living however it's better that he doesn't know (my father's tip lol)... do you guys know a good cover-up I can show him on my computer? I was thinking about hosting or something...

Man up mate, if you feel so uncomfortable with what you do maybe you shouldnt be doing it.

Yep....community standards and such. If I can't use the word "fuck" around a family member without them looking at me funny. I would not tell them.

However, my entire immediate family knows what I do. They stop by our office all the time to visit and shoot the shit. Good people they are.

sure, tho i tend to only show them my celeb sites and the more softcore stuff. i don't think they would understand some of more out there hardcore stuff.

What do I market on the Internet? I keep that to myself and usually use some bull shit story about NDA's. Its worked for the people who have asked, most people don't ask though. They think I'm a failed college dropout, muahaha.

I kind of live by the "need to know" policy. If someone has a legitimate reason to know, I'll tell. Otherwise I don't tell, I don't need unwanted attention.

show them, to show what my job is, no. (they usually get confused by words like "hosting" and "ftp" then they say "i have nnoooooooo clue what your talkin about". so i dont even bother.

i basically just tell people "i sell porn online." some people will go "ahhhhhh, okay..cool!" and some ask "you sell pictures of yourself online??" LOL (they get confused sometimes).

Anyone "coming over" here, is coming over to have something to do WITH my work....anyone else, like if I am out - I don't hesitate to tell them. My family all knows, and are cool with it - and if any aren't cool with it, they know where my ass is, and they can kiss it....My stuff is all over the place, and I have no issues with who knows or what they think, to be honest.

Everybody knows what line of work I'm in, including my parents. Nobody questions me and everybody is very supportive. I guess it has to do with living in a city as liberal as Las Vegas.
