Cogent Prices are Going Up!

OK, so I was wrong, they are not going down. It will be $30,000 for the gig line from now on from Cogent, or at least this is what I was told today. It does not effect people with a contract, but you may see some companies raise prices to accomodate the increase.

30g's for a gigabit? Is this the confirmed pricing from Cogent or just rumor? This must mean they're having trouble getting more VC and actually need to post a profit or go out of business.. Hrmmm

I don't know what the gig line was before, but the 100 meg line was $3500/US. This is still a remarkably low price for a lot of b/width.

100 Mbps was $3000
1000 MBps was $20,000

I am not sure if the 100 Mbps price will be effected. Basically, it is still a great price and as much as I would like to see it go down, they are making a proper business decsion to increase the price.
