Is Bellsouth DSL better than Comcast Cable Broadband?

I'm considering changing over to Bellsouths DSL cause comcast has been going out 10-15 times a day over the past 2 months or so. I can't take this shit anymore. To top it off comcasts service dept sucks.

    Is bellsouths DSL good?

No see if any other carrier offers it in your area. Like Earthlink or someone. And yeah I know its all the same line but BS sucks ass on customer service and will rebill when you cancel. Not to mention they go out all the time. Even knocked out my phone line a few times when it rained and i had my voice service with another company! Fuck Bellsouth

What can I say, Ive been a customer with BS for over 5 years... never had a complaint, and had service down only once. After every hurricane in SoFla and the power comes back, DSL is up and running. Now Comcast... some ppl i know still have no internet since hurricane Wilma.

I had bellsouth for about 1 year, and then we moved. Never had a problem, and the connection was fast. But that was about 3.5 years ago.

I hate bellsouth with a passion. I would rather be on dialup than use them.

BellSouth is like the mafia...you can never leave. I've been fighting those cheating mother fuckers for 2 years, since I got fed up with them and left. If you don't mind them trying to rip you off, the service isn't bad, but I got faster service with Knology for the same price...and they haven't tried to rip me off yet. lol

Did you contact Comcast about it ?? I go through Charter, but I know with me there's been a couple of times when my levels were off and my modem was up and down all day for a few days until they came out and tweaked them again, then things went back to being good.

Comcast cable is quite a bit faster than bellsouth dsl, and it is also about 25 per cent more expensive. Bellsouth has been lowering its prices recently, and Comcast is trying to keep it more expensive.

Also you are penalized if you aren't a cable tv subscriber, and most people have satellite tv these days.

If you quite comcast for 4 months, they have a special welcome back promotion for only $19.95 a month.

Ofcourse i contacted comcast. I call them about every other day. They're telling me they will give me 1 month free now. Fuck them. It's too late.

My gf has bellsouth's DSL and has never had 1 outtage, and I have 10-15 outtages a day. Fuck this.

BTW, my cable went out when I made this thread and this is the first time ive had a chance to reply. I cant even get any work done.

if you are having troubles it might be the dns servers you are using

try changing your dns servers to
                          4.2.2.1
                          4.2.2.2

and see if that fixes it

I have had comcast for 2 years, been using those dns servers for 1 year, in the past year I have never been down once, even when everyone else in georgia was complainging about problems, i was always up

No, but most of my family went, though. I went to a huge Iron Bowl party at one of my friend's house that was a 50/50 Bama Auburn split. Then I was passed out by 11:00.
