Damn,
After over a year of running my home office upstairs through wifi down to the basement where the cable modem was, I finally got off my ass this weekend and ran proper network cabling up the house through the attic, and directly into my office with high quality cable all the way.

It is SO smoking fast now by comparison. I love it!!!!

Who'd have thunk Cat 5/6 cable would be faster than an 11MB or 54MB wireless router...

yer cable is the way to go I got sick of wireless in my house ages ago also tried a firewire link and it was shit too

one day I might go get a 1GIG ethernet switch

Well the cable service only does 5mb... so seems like i'm pipe limited even over wireless.
But i guess i thunk wrong.
