not sure if it was posted, but I think this is huge since I know for 100% sure all the "Adult" dating sites do it. They are being sued for sending fake member emails, creating fake profiles, and even for sending employees on fake dates!

In some instances, the suit contends, people on the Match payroll even went on sham dates with subscribers as a marketing ploy.

"This is a grossly fraudulent practice that Match.com is engaged in," said H. Scott Leviant, a lawyer at Los Angeles law firm Arias, Ozzello & Gignac, which brought the suit.
Match "promotes the policies of integrity to protect members, and yet they themselves, we allege, are misleading their entire customer base," he said.

The company said it does not comment on pending litigation. But Match spokeswoman Kristin Kelly said the company "absolutely does not" employ people to go on dates with subscribers or to send members misleading e-mails professing romantic interest. The company has about 15 million members worldwide and 250 employees, she said.

that wouldn't be the point, the point would be these places all hire people to do it, most bigger ones do it in house. if they can prove they do it themselves, they are fucked.

your idea of they can't help if users post fake ones would be their only defense.

but then again, it doesn't cover their asses on sending out automated scripted fake member to member emails showing interest that are fake. I'm sure that can be proven pretty easily.

I have actually caught a large dating site stealing pictures from my site (which is an amateur site) and making profiles with them. We have been able to locate over 100 profiles used with our pictures. Still deciding how to handle it.

I am pretty sure there are trolls and scammers on the dating sites but they are probably random people not employees.

IF they are company employees.........damn that's shady as hell.

I still doubt any company would put their employees on dates or fake profiles. I mean, really, wouldn't that dumb as fuck on their part? I just don't see it as plausible.

With as much money as they make I'd be really surprised if they didn't. I think they need to contact Gene and move that part of the operation to the Philippines from now on though.
